Artist's Description

This windmill is part of the ranch and dairy farm in the middle of Highlands Ranch, the southern most community in the metropolitan area of Denver, Colorado. The windmill south of the historic mansion is the site of the primary well used for the ranching headquarters and mansion. There were quite a number of wells drilled throughout Highlands Ranch so that water would be available for cattle in each pasture.
