Take Highway 130 south from US1 at Darmiscotta to reach the rocky coast and the Pemaquid Point lighthouse. Originally built in 1827, it was rebuilt in 1835 due to poor construction of the original. It is on the National Register of Historic Places and is one of the most photographed lighthouses on the Maine coast.
